The Naked Experience

Hello Lovelies!

So the other week while I was in Norwich I got stopped by an Urban Decay Girl when walking into House of Fraser. Initially I just wanted to walk away and I wasn't bothered but luckily I stayed around and I got given a free makeover of my choice!

As it was my choice I went with having my face make-up done which meant foundation, blush, bronzer etc. This was because I use the Naked palettes anyway and I tend to like the way I do my eye make-up so why not try something different.

I really loved the foundation and blush palette she used on me that day, but as you probably all know Urban Decay is more of a high end brand so I wasn't going to pay the full price for them!

This is where everything down below makes sense. Recently had a sale on so some of the products were cheaper and these 2 were included! Also I had a 10% off leaflet in one of the magazines I read so I thought what better time than now to buy them. I did have to wait to get the right colour foundation but I didn't mind, I was paying less than full price and that's what mattered!

I hadn't ordered make-up online before so I was a little apprehensive about it all coming in one piece but I am very happy with the way feelunique package there items! It's put in a box which actually fits the products and wrapped tightly so nothing budges when getting chucked around by the post people as I'm sure you all know and hate! Great service feelunique!

I got the foundation in the shade 1.0 which is the lightest shade but in the warm tone. If you haven't used urban decay foundation before just like I hadn't until now, if the shade ends in a 0 it's a warm tone and if it ends with a 5 it's a cool tone I believe.
I love this for what it does, I haven't ever really come across anything like this before! It's actually a really lightweight foundation which is very liquidy but it is also VERY buildable which means I can get the coverage from it which I love as I'm not really a light coverage kind of person!

On the box it says "It feels like wearing nothing at all, just Naked Skin transforms complexions. Skin looks natural, illuminated and bright: like the beautiful skin you were born with. Weightless and virtually invisible, this revolutionary paraben-free formula creates a flawless, demi-matte finish; light-diffusing spheres make you look professionally retouched. It's the ultimate in ultra definition"

And yes I do agree to most of it, although I feel if you really want a feeling of wearing nothing at all you need to give it a good buff in. Personally I think that's more of a positive for the lighter coverage people.

Overall I think this is totally worth the money and a staple foundation, and yes I would pay full price for it but if you can get something cheaper then why the hell not!

I brought the Flushed palette in shade Streak which gives a fairly natural bronzer, pinky/peach tone blush and a warm highlight.

I have to start by saying how amazing the pigmentation is for all 3 of the products in this palette! You literally hardly needed to touch the brush to the palette the pigmentation is that good! Also they are all very fine and smooth with gives such a great airbrushed effect!

Overall I would definitely pay the full price for this but I think this is going to last me a rather long time anyway with how little you need! I would recommend finding the right colour set for you though as I think it really helps to look more naturally glowing! Haha!

Just thought I'd sneak a few photo's of my full Urban Decay collection in there because I'm sure people will be interested! Also the Naked palettes are very pigmented and certainly worth the money because they last ages too!

I'm a hunter for Sales! "DOUBLE FRIDAY"

Hello Fashionista's!

Welcome to DOUBLE FRIDAY! If you've seen my last post you'll know I hit 50 bloglovin' followers on Wednesday, however it was a rather busy day for me so I didn't end up posting my planned post! So today I have both Wednesday's and Today's post on the way for you!

So lets get going!

Over the past few months of summer that I've had off I've been able to look around different places, now when I went out I had no intention of buying anything however over the time I managed to find a few things that I absolutly loved! So here are a few bits I hunted for in the sales over the summer!

Left: Lightweight Neutral Coat from Next which I think I got for about £20 and was about £40/£50 full price. I've seen these sorts of jackets everywhere but just never found one I really liked and suited until I found this! I love it, it's a great autumn coat which keeps you warm but not boiling!

Right/Middle: Neutral Body Warmer from Fat Face. I'd seen these body warmers in Fat Face for absolutely ages and so many people seemed to have them last year however I wasn't buying one for £78 I think it was at full price! When I saw this for about £30 I had to pick it up, and because it's neutral it will go with everything over the colder season! Also the hood is sooo snuggly and warm, the softest thing ever!!

I'm probably a bit of a late one with this pick up as well, a kimono! I know they have been around everywhere this summer but I never found one that I really liked and suited me well until I saw this in the M and Co Sale for £10 I think! I have to say I do really love it but those tassels can be a little annoying, they shred so easily and get caught on everything!

Top Left: I found this Jumper on the same day as the Fat Face item and thought they would work perfectly together! Although it's more of a winter item I thought seen as it was in the sale for £10 why not get it in preparation!

Top Right: I found this in Bhs in the Dorothy Perkins section, I always find I find more in the integrated shops than the shops I the only one? I picked this up for £9, a three quarter armed top with a cute little squirrel on!

Bottom Left: These 2 tops are from Next which when I ordered them wasn't sure I was going to like, but there actually a really nice simple staple piece to throw on and look good! I think they were £4 each which is a very good price! What I also love is the fact the straps are adjustable which is great because I always find these sort of tops the straps can be far too long!

Bottom Right: Finally in this little quad, another top from Next which is more of an over sized top because it's a little too big for me but tucking it into a skirt or high waisted jeans could look quite nice I think! £4 I think this was!

Finally I picked up this tiger crop top again from next which I honestly don't know the price off I'm afraid! I don't normally like crop tops and I'm still a little unsure about this one but maybe with a skirt or high waisted jeans/shorts it would look quite nice!

Have you picked up anything good in the sales over summer?

I wouldn't still be writing this blog if it wasn't for the comments and people enjoying the content, initially when I started this blog I thought it would be another nothing like lots of other blogs I've tried in the past. But to say I've reached 50 followers on bloglovin' is crazy to me!

Collecting for Uni

 Hello Wonderful People!

If there's any arty people out there, or people interested in the beginning of my uni story as I get closer to starting then you're going to LOVE this post!

You may or may not know depending on if you've read some of my previous posts I am going to Norwich University of the Arts on the 29th of September to start a BA course in Textiles!
I actually looked at uni's all across the UK however I ended up choosing my home city as the other uni I really loved I didn't get into, but need that being said I am still very happy to be staying close to home as that means I don't have to move out! Anything for less expense with uni life!

Just before results day came this year I received a letter in the post from the Uni with a little welcome, summer project (which I will tell you about in a post coming soon!) and a list of things we're going to need!
Now until a few days ago I didn't realise we don't really need much of it which means I now almost have the full list for no reason and probably for more expense...little bit sad, although a little tip for any new uni people you probably don't need everything they ask of you in the first 2/3 weeks so don't worry!

So as I've brought so much I thought I'd show you the things I've brought and maybe if you're interested in arts and crafts some things that might be helpful to you too!

As you can see there really is a crazy amount of stuff! I have to say though I love stationary so having all these new things to use and experiment with makes me quite happy!

Are any of you interested in art or starting uni soon?

Behind the Scenes: Planning!

Hello, this one is an unusual Sunday post which now I look at it makes this post slightly ironic as I planned for it to go up on Friday but things came up which meant I was too busy to write and upload the post!
And I hadn't scheduled it as I feel i'm more involved when I don't schedule as much.

Despite the irony here's my little behind the scenes on how I plan the posts!

Now this might look all very orderly and probably doesn't help my creativity! However I actually come up with ideas where ever I am and sometimes use days out as something to post about.

But...there's always a but, I find if I don't write down when I maybe plan to do that post I'll loose track and you definitely wouldn't be seeing as many posts as you have done over the last couple of months!

Also as I've mentioned before I'm going to uni in the not so distant future so with that coming along as well I may not post as often but I really want to try! So yeah, that's a little how I plan my posts! I don't want to go into too much detail as you can see what I do and I try to keep it well balanced!

Nail Art Game Strong!

Hey Hey Hey!

Recently I've been loving taking a little longer doing my nails and trying out different types of nail art, but not only has me wanting to try something new helped I have also received a hell of a lot more comments on my nails and people wondering whether I've done them myself.

I don't know about you but when someone complements something you do or wear you certainly want to do it a hell of a lot more! So along with what I've done to my nails this time round I just want to mention a bit of an appreciation and thank you to the people who like my nails and are always wondering what's next to come!

So recently as I mentioned in my August Favourites I brought a Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in Kiwi, although I'd heard a lot of people rave about the Gelly polishes I hadn't ever tried one myself so when an offer came up I thought what better time than now!
And of course with it being something new I really wanted to try it out, so I did a little manicure with it!

As you can see I did quite a simple one this time but I posted it on instagram a week or so ago and a lot of people liked it, which shows simple can be effective! I was actually inspired to do this by someone who walked into where I worked the other week as she had full leopard print nails so I thought I'd take inspiration from it, and here is what I did!

So of course I used the Gelly polish in Kiwi like I said, which I love and you only really need 1 coat but I used 2 because I always do and find it lasts that little bit longer than one coat! Also I'm not sure if you can tell in the photo's but it does oxidize and go a little more green when dried.

I also used a Black polish by Barry M to create the leopard print nail which again is very opaque and it 10x better than my other black nail polish I had been using! Until now I've not really had a need for black polish as I'm not a huge fan of black nails, but I am pleased I went with this one!

And finally I used Indigo by Barry M, did a full on Barry M manicure this time! I haven't actually used this colour for a long time but when you use it as a full nail colour it very opaque and you can probably get away with 1 coat, but I do find it dries to more of a blue on full nails than a purple. Then I of course finished with Seche Vite, I don't think I need to say anything about that!

I'd love to know if you like these sort of posts/what your favourite posts are so I can keep in mind what you all like too!

What I've been lovin! August!

I can't believe August is over already!

For me I think it's one of my favourite months it's the middle of summer and the last month before everything goes back to normal in September, although this year round for me I don't start uni until the end of the month but there's still a lot to do and fit in before I start!

So let's get cracking! On with August favourites!

Looking back on some of the items I've chosen to show you today it almost feels like ages ago that I decided to pick them, but the reason I've picked them is because I loved them during August and some have changed already which means I have a September Favourites coming along already! God I feel like I'm wishing the month away!

1. Aztec Print BodyCon Dress
Now some of you who follow my blog will have seen this dress come up already in my New Look Sale Haul, so if you want to go see it being worn check it out here! But I wore it out for the first time last month ,out Clubbing and I just loved wearing it, it's bold, stands out from the crowds and definitely made me feel more confident in an environment I certainly wasn't used to, and for me I don't think I still am...But we'll soon see with this Uni business coming up...Eeek!!

2. Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
I have definitely been loving this palette during summer, when it's been really warm and sunny I much prefer to wear lighter and brighter tones but with a hint of darker colour to add shape and this certainly did the job or me! I find this is more of my summer palette as the shades tend to be a lot lighter than my Naked Palette. Also seen as I have bluey eyes it works well and brings out the colour just a tad!

3. Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Celestial
This has been my holy grail this month, it's just a little darker than my natural lip colour and gives a nice gloss and finish to my lips! It's also really opaque which I love because it's almost a lipstick. I'm sure from a couple of posts ago you could all guess this was coming, but if I'm honest this is definitely my summer staple before I start getting the darker shades out for Autumn and Winter.

4. NYC Mosaic Colour Wheel Blush in Pink Cheek Glow
I didn't know I was going to add this to my favourites until about 3 days ago and was going to hold back until September but I thought I might have something else in store for then! I don't often wear blush because I always thought I looked a bit like a clown and hated it, but the other day when I was out shopping I got stopped to get a makeover at the Urban Decay stand so I thought I'd take it on. She did my face make-up which included blush, at the time I wasn't sure but in the end I got used to it and everyone I asked said I looked better. So yeah, blush has grown on me and this was the first one I had in my draw so thought I'd give it a go, in the end I loved it and it suits my skin very well!

5. No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation in Calico
I actually use this on a regular basis and have done for the past 9 months at least, but I thought I'd put it in my favourites because recently it has really worked wonders on my skin and layering up where I need it I haven't had to use concealer. This is more of a medium-high coverage foundation which I love but it's nicely buildable when you buff it into the skin, it can look a bit cakey if you don't buff! Although I find that with a lot of foundations!

6. Aloe Vera Vaseline
Now for a lot of people this is probably a classic and a staple product. Recently I ran out of 2 Vaseline tubs which meant I was only left with my SPF one, although I love SPF and you're supposed to use it all year round it wasn't helping my dry chapped lips. So while I was out I picked this up and I have to say it has helped! My lips still haven't completely recovered and probably won't as the weather gets colder, but for sure it will keep it under control!
If anyone knows any really good lip balms that can battle the winter please let me know!

7. Barry M Gelly Polish in Kiwi
This was a little offer pick up really when I needed a Black nail polish so I didn't intend to pick it up, however I have really loved it! It's a great end of summer colour leading up to Autumn and it tries a tad more green. It also lasts well and it very shiny so thumbs up for me on this one! My next post will have this polish in to keep en eye out!

That's everything, sorry it's been a bit of a long ramble!

Rimmel Match Perfection Review

Hello everyone!

So a while ago I brought the Match Perfection Foundation by Rimmel in Light Porcelain, seen as it had been really warm I thought a lighter foundation would be great for the summer as BB creams have never quite done it for me!

Now I'm not sure if I've said on my blog yet, but I tend to prefer a higher coverage foundation because I just feel I look a lot healthier and it helps boost my confidence, so when I brought this with a light coverage it was a bit of a see how it goes type thing...

Personally I think this is a nice foundation and does what it says on the package but I'm not completely certain on it for what I like, but that's my opinion. However I think the colour range is great because I can't often get a light enough foundation for me as my skin is quite light and a lot of drugstore foundations can tend to make me look a little orangey, and no one wants that!

There's also a light scent to it I feel which is sort of floral, which I'm sure you will know about if you've brought something from rimmel before. Don't get me wrong it's a nice smell but I prefer foundations to not have a smell really as sometimes anything like that can cause a little break out on my skin.

Little swatch, obviously this is on my arm and doesn't match there

What I'm personally not sure on with this foundation though is it is rather liquidy so if you don't like a really liquid foundation and more of a slightly denser one this probably isn't for you. Which yes I did find and recently I have been pairing up with another foundation not only to thicken it but give more of a medium coverage.

With the coverage it definitely is a light coverage and I don't think you can really get any more than that,  for me it's not very buildable as it starts to look cakey and like you don't know how to apply foundation, so coverage wise it's not really for me.

However I am determined to use it, so when I have slightly better skin days I mix this with a higher coverage foundation by No7 and I can just about pull it off.

It also has a sort of dewy-matte finish which I like, but I often use powder just to keep it in place for as long as I can.

For the price I brought it for (£5.99) it has stood up to my thoughts on drugstore foundations, I've only ever been to a brand which matches the foundation to my skin because you never waste money that way as I don't tend to get along with drugstore too well. And with this one I think it's going to take a while for me to finish, sorry drugstore foundations but I think I'm more of a higher end foundation fan!

Kisses! Rimmel Apocalips Love!

Hi Beauties!

Last winter I really got into buying dark lipsticks because who doesn't in the colder months? But I also came across Apocalips Lip Lacquer's which I blimin fell in love with because the colour is so strong, long lasting and VERY pigmented!

Now your probably wondering what the hell that's got to do with right here, right now. Well while I was wondering around some shops on my own I found some more on offer in superdrug and because we had warm weather recently (although not so much now, damn you British weather!) I thought I would pick up a couple of more summery shades and I have rekindled my love for them!
